This year on May 9, I will celebrate 5 years of survival after receiving a diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer. I spent 6 months doing chemotherapy treatments, followed by aggressive surgery to ensure my best chances of destroying and removing any trace of cancer in my body. I am now living my healthiest life, physically, mentally and spiritually. I credit my treatment plan with giving me my best changes to live a healthy life. I am grateful that I was able to get to and from treatment through the support of my friends and family, and to God for helping me through the hardest days.
To celebrate these wonderful 5 years, I decided to participate in Wear Yellow's fundraiser to provide cancer patients with free rides to and from treatment. I plan to ride the 45 mile route as a way to celebrate my health and to help others who are just starting their survival journey. Not everyone has the support system I had, and their health may suffer if they miss treatments because they don't have a ride to treatment.
This cause is very dear to me, and I'll appreciate all the support I can get.
I love you, dear friends and family. Give if you can, or sign up to ride with me. Thanks for making a difference! - Erin
